Cleaning and maintenance program is to be scheduled on a 3-6 month basis. In areas where pollutants are more prevalent, such as beachfront houses and industrial or geothermal areas, a cleaning program should be carried out on a more frequent basis. Please consult with your Recoat representative to confirm the required program frequency.
To clean your joinery:
1) Carefully remove any loose surface deposits with a wet sponge.
2) Use a soft brush (non abrasive) and a dilute solution of a mild detergent, eg, pH-neutral liquid detergent in warm
water (DO NOT use solvents) to remove dust, salt and other deposits.
3) Ensure you thoroughly rinse the surfaces with clean fresh water after cleaning to remove all residues.
a) Please mask your joinery when building, renovating, plastering, or painting.
b) If paint splatters or sealants do get on joinery, do not allow to dry, remove immediately.
c) DO NOT use turpentine, white spirits, thinner, miracle clean or other aggressive solvents on powder coating (these may be harmful to the powder coated surface and should be avoided as the damage may not be visible immediately and may take up to twelve months to appear)
d) DO NOT rub powder coating excessively, especially metallic finishes.
e) DO use approved low-tac tapes only to mask joinery for a maximum of 48 hours.
f) DO NOT use adhesive products such as duct tape, double sided-tape, med-high tac tape, adhesive hanging products (whether permanent or removable) directly on coated joinery as removal can cause damage to the coated surface. g) Use masking tapes in accordance with manufacturer’s instruction. h) Keep sunscreens away from powder coating, some sunscreens adversely affect painted finishes.
